Product Features and Applications
Ultrafine barium sulfate is a colorless orthorhombic crystal or white amorphous powder. The relative density was 4.50 (15 ℃). Melting point 1580 ℃. It is almost insoluble in water, ethanol and acid. Soluble in hot concentrated sulfuric acid, easy to agglomerate when drying. Barium sulfide can be reduced by carbon at 600 ℃. The application of barium sulfate in paint is better than most other filling powder, with low cohesiveness, low light dispersion and fine particles. It is especially suitable for pigment topcoat, varnish and spray paint, with chemical resistance and weather resistance.
The higher the melting point of precipitated barium sulfate is, the better it will play in the product processing and smelting.
