Recently, BASF announced in a letter to customers that it will not be able to deliver the expected amount of propylene oxide to BASF due to events beyond its control at an important propylene oxide supplier. So much so that BASF Polyurethanes has to declare that polyether polyols and polyurethane systems are difficult to supply in the European market.
As of now, BASF can neither secure existing orders for May nor confirm any orders for May or June. The list of affected products is as follows:

At the same time, Dow also issued an emergency notice saying that due to the accident of a supplier of upstream raw materials, its ability to supply key raw materials to Dow’s business was interrupted. Therefore, Dow announced that the supply of propylene glycol was stopped due to force majeure, and the recovery time Follow-up notice.

Due to the supply problems of Dow, the crisis of supply interruption of chemical giants in the chemical industry chain has been triggered. In fact, under the influence of the global energy crisis this year, many international chemical companies have announced the suspension of supply, and Xiaoba also made some reports before:
Restricted transportation, Ineos 5 factories declare force majeure
The delivery is force majeure, and the operations of many giants such as Total and Exxon are limited!
It is worth noting that since April, chemical giant LyondellBasell has also issued several announcements due to force majeure factors such as mechanical failures, acetic acid raw materials, tert-butyl acetate, ethylene glycol ether acetate (EBA, DBA) and other products. There is a shortage of supply.
On April 15, a mechanical failure occurred in the carbon monoxide supply system for the acetic acid feedstock in La Porte, Texas.
On April 22, it was announced that products such as tert-butyl acetate and ethylene glycol ether acetate (EBA, DBA) were affected by force majeure.
On April 25, a quota sales notice was issued: the company is implementing the sales distribution of tert-butyl acetate, propylene glycol methyl ether acetate and other products.
